Connecting Nokia 6681 to Airtel GPRS in SUSE Linux 10.0

After one full day of research, i have finally connected my Nokia 6681 to Airtel GPRS. Awesome feeling…

Linux + Bluetooth + gprs is the combination… But still i couldnt figure out how to connected with a USB cable…

Well the speed is pretty low (really low ..) May be i need to tweek some settings…

  8. For USB, it depends how the serial device to internal model appears in your distro. For suse (opensuse 10.x) the usb is attached at /dev/ttyACM0 or /dev/ttyACM1 (depends which USB socket you use)
    so change the serial device in “gprs” script to /dev/ttyACM0 instead of /dev/ircomm0 (irDA) or /dev/ttyUB0 (blue tooth)

    For other distros, try plugging in the cable in USB and see change in /dev/tty*

    on FC6+ i saw USB as /dev/USB0 or /dev/USB1 …

  9. I already have a dual sim phone bu i wish it was a Nokia. It is everything i need in a phone. i have my contract and prepaid sim cards on onte phone. it is the best.
