Protocol Analyser

Yup thats my Mini Project for Summer!!!! I’ll be doing it with WINWAYS
Solutions (winways.co.in)

The objective is to build a protocol analyser using pcap library on
linux which will
>monitor & analyse the bandwidth usage
>detect intrusions in network
>detect port scanners used by hackers
>detect dos or ddos attacks

Sounds intresting basically because it is on LINUX. I simply love linux.

Prep status:

>Downloaded Some tutorials on pcap library
>No idea yet for intrusion detection

Things i would like to add is
> A good interface. May be use GTK,But i will do it only when the core program is completed.

This summer is gonna be fun. Here i come LINUX……….
