New iFolder 3.6 WinXP Client (beta) is available for download. Checkout iFolder.com

  • This has the new and improved UI which is identical to the 3.4 Linux clients.

iFolder daily build servers are down for maintenance. Srinidhi has setup iFolder client builds in OpenSuSE Build Service. Latest clients are available from OpenSuSE Build Service Repo. ( http://software.opensuse.org/download/home:/srinidhi/openSUSE_10.2/)

This is temporary and will be fixed soon !! :-)

I’ve been looking at gnome-vfs ifolder plugin. If it is good enough and works with the new simias .. We should be thinking of moving it to ifolder/trunk from ifolder/NU-TrunkAnd for all those who would like to hack on interesting accessories of ifolders .. Take a look at

  • Konqueror Plugin ( Similar to nautilus-ifolder plugin)
  • CommandLine Client.

( Well … That little voice told me to check with POBox .. But i kept ignoring it. Anyway …)

I was Stuck with this weird Bug. I was not able to reproduce it consistently. But whenever the testing team tries it out, they get it in the first attempt. I knew that it had to be in the POBox code. but someow i never listened to that little voice. So i kept investigating the iFolderListStore HashTables. Got a lot of info abt the behaviour of the client from there.

Totally frusturated abt this bug ( one of the reason for no posts for 16 days). Anyway … this is how i solved the Bug ..

I created the StackTrace object and printed it out. within 60 seconds , the bug was located and killed.

StackTrace st = new StrackTrace();

Console.WriteLine (st.ToString());

/me relieved.

Well now kill some more bugzzz … the hunt is on ..

I was friday evening and everybody was leaving early for the weekends (this was a special weekend , christmas!!! ) and srinidhi was still punching his keyboard. Around 7 in the evening srinidhi made the announcement we’ve been waiting for.

“iFolder 3.6 Linux Client Daily Builds are available”.

More work is going on windows clients. Ramesh is working on it to get the new windows ui which will have the same look-n-feel of the linux client ui.

Came to office by 7:15 AM . still in office ..

  • Fixed a simias.conf issue. Now MultiDomains iFolder servers should be *easier* to setup using apache. No need for manual start of iFolder server
  • Played around with DiscoverFramework. Some work completed.
  • Worked on that simias codewalk for ifolder.com wiki
  • Updated my ~/.emacs page.
  • Had fun with emacs planner. Fallin in luv again …
